YVC honors Volunteer of the Month
Emilee Peltier has been chosen as the November Volunteer of the Month for the Boys and Girls Club Youth Volunteer Corps of Alpena. She is a seventh grader at Thunder Bay Junior High School.
Peltier is the daughter of Lisa Peltier. She has been a YVC member since the last school year and has volunteered over 42 hours in the local community.
One of her favorite YVC projects is the Huron Humane Society. She likes to hang out and play with all the animals so that they know how to behave around humans, which helps them to get adopted.
Peltier joined YVC because she wanted to help her local community and make friends. She said she enjoys the variety of ice breakers, projects and reflections as she finds them fun and educational. By doing YVC she gets to learn and grow from the projects, while helping others in her community.
The staff believes she has gone above and beyond to help with future YVC projects by collecting hundreds of plastic bottle caps for the Recycled Cap Art piece. Being part of YVC takes commitment and dedication. Peltier has proven time and time again that she has those valuable skills. The staff at YVC could not be prouder of all her accomplishments.
