Sunnyside Red Toppers hold fall gathering
Sunnyside Red Toppers gathered Oct. 26 at the Spruce Shadow Farms Knitting Shop in the Alpena Mall. Fifteen members attended and made tie dye silk scarves. One member, Carol Lightner, came to watch and cheer the rest of the group on.
Serving as hostesses for the day were Karen Wallace, Lois Centala and Nancy Benson. Snacks and beverages were served with all the ladies taking home some Halloween candy and their homemade scarves.
All the ladies were given a number for prizes. Winners were Lynda Russell, Eileen Wikaryasz, Patti Tucker and Arlene Bartosh. The hostesses put a red card under one of the chairs as a door prize. The winner of a Red Hat candle was Marilynn Korte.
The next event will be held Nov. 9 at Grace Lutheran Church with Diane Laseck and Patti Tucker as hostesses for a Thanksgiving dinner.
The group has been invited by the Hubbard Lake Red Hatters to decorate a Red Hat Christmas tree Nov. 16 at the Besser Museum. A luncheon will be held at the Hunan Chinese Restaurant. Serving as hostesses will be Marianne Deminick and Carol Watts.
