ROC plans Worldwide Candle Lighting ceremony

Remembering Our Children, a grief support group for families who have lost a child of any age, will participate in a Worldwide Candle Lighting on Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Those interested are invited to join the group celebrate the life and memory of their children who have died.

There will be inspirational music, reading, candlelighting, PowerPoint presentation and recitation of each child’s name. Light refreshments and a time for sharing will follow.

Candles will be provided. Participants also are invited to personalize and hang an ornament on the group’s Remembrance Tree.

Participants are welcome to bring a picture or special remembrance of their child to display or wear a shirt with their child’s photo. Dress appropriately as part of the event will be held outdoors.

Those wanting to participate in the PowerPoint presentation should provide their child’s photo by calling 884-2348 or emailing kaszcat@yahoo.com by Dec. 1.

If the weather is bad or you are unable to attend, light a candle at home at 7 p.m.

The group will be collecting new and unwrapped toys in their children’s memories for Toys for Tots.
