ASO members to present ‘Autumn Serenade’ Concer

The “Autumn Serenade” Concert, performed by various members and friends of the Alpena Symphony Orchestra, provides ideal entertainment for a Sunday afternoon in late fall. Plan to attend this performance on Sunday at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 167 S. Ripley Blvd.

The rich and varied program features performances by the Sunrise Ringers handbell choir, Thunder Bay Saxophone Quartet and Alpena String Ensemble.

In between these large ensembles, listeners will hear music by these local artists as solos, duets and a trio. Marissa Klarich and Janie Cook will perform two violin duets that will be followed by an organ/piano duet by Suelyn Bartz and Andrea Arbuckle.

Vocal duets will be sung by David Reeves and Karen Thompson with Marvis McNeil accompanying them on the piano. McNeil also appears on the program playing an organ solo.

There will be a trio comprised of MaryAnn Hubbard on flute, Cynthia Atkinson on cello and Andrea Arbuckle on piano that follows the vocal selections. The fall concert is planned as a musical smorgasbord.

The “Autumn Serenade” is free of charge, with donations appreciated. ASO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

A reception will follow the performance in the church social hall.
