Alpena FFA sets annual Fruit and Nut Sale
The Alpena FFA once again is holding its annual Fruit and Nut Sale to raise funds to support chapter activities.
Members will be selling a variety of citrus fruits including California and Texas navels, Texas red grapefruit and Michigan apples, clementines, and a variety of mixed fruit gift boxes. Unfortunately this year Florida citrus will not be offered due to incremental weather and citrus disease issues in Florida.
In addition, the chapter is selling a variety of nuts and candies, and a snacking gift box that includes meat, cheese and mixed nuts. These make excellent Christmas gifts and will be ready for pick up just before the holidays.
All proceeds from the fundraiser support local chapter activities. These activities include chapter meetings, community service events, travel and registration costs to leadership contests and state and national convention, and the awards banquet at the end of the school year. This fundraiser is the chapter’s primary source of funds for the entire year.
Orders must be placed by Friday. Fruit will be available for pick up or delivery Dec. 14-15. If interested in ordering, contact a current Alpena FFA member or call advisers Ron Worth and Melissa Smith at 358-5220 or 358-5223.
