ACC Players return with ‘The Actor’s Nightmare’

After a seven-year hiatus, the ACC Players Theatre Group returns to Alpena Community College. The ACC Players will be presenting “The Actor’s Nightmare,” by Christopher Durang in Granum Theatre Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Show times will be 7:30 p.m. all nights, along with a special matinee performance on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices will be $8 for general admission and $6 for students/faculty. To reserve tickets, patrons can call the ACC Players Box Office at 358-7392.

Starring in the show are ACC students Erin LaBell, Ashley Cotton, Jake Lanier, Ely Irving, and Heather McIntire. The show involves an accountant named George Spelvin (played by Lanier), who is mistaken for an actor’s understudy and is forced to perform in a play for which he doesn’t know any of the lines.

Kendra McInerney, a part-time employee at ACC, will be directing the show and is looking forward to bringing live theater back to the ACC Community.

“I am beyond excited and proud to be bringing the ACC Players back into the spotlight,” McInerney said. “The cast and crew have been working so hard and their dedication has really made this show start to take shape! I couldn’t be happier with the product that we have put together.”

McInerney is optimistic about the future of the ACC Players and believes this will be a great opportunity for ACC students as well as Alpena residents to enjoy live theatre.

“Theatre is, and always has been, so vital to our time and this story is no exception. I’m excited for Alpena to enjoy something a little different and hope that it will launch the ACC Players back into a solid existence.”
