Kim Thompson Scholarship awarded to twin brothers
The Alpena Community College Foundation announces that the Kim M. Thompson Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to twins Hunter and Trevor Clissold of Lincoln.
Both are 2016 graduates of Alcona High School who enrolled in ACC following their graduation. Hunter is in the Concrete Technology Program and Trevor in the Auto Service and Repair Program. Each received a $500 scholarship for their 2017-18 academic year at ACC.
Thompson, a highly respected businessman in Alpena and Alcona counties, was a champion of education and served on the ACC Foundation Board of Trustees for 12 years. Over the years, he provided many internship opportunities to ACC students at Thompson Sales and Service. In addition he also served on ACC’s Auto Service Program Advisory Committee.
This endowed scholarship fund was established by Thompson’s family and friends following his passing on Nov. 1, 2014. The scholarship honors Thompson’s commitment to education and his community-minded philosophy.
