MOC Auxiliary gives report on recent activities, upcoming plans

The regular meeting of the MOC Auxiliary was held April 18, with eight members in attendance. Fines were declared, minutes of last month’s meeting read and the treasurer’s report read and filed subject to audit. General Orders No. 4 was read and bills were presented for payment.

Committee reports were given. Scholarship Chairman Barb LaMay and Dixie Weiler planned to attend a luncheon for the presentation of a scholarship to a nursing student. More volunteers are needed for Wednesday’s visit to Tendercare.

Two-year Trustee Linda Dubie read the quarterly audit conducted prior to the meeting. The audit was accepted as read. The auxiliary received funds from the Friday Night Bingo and the bingo concession.

It was voted to purchase new briefcases for the president, treasurer and secretary as the ones they were using were quite old and faulty.

The auxiliary voted to send money to the VA Hospital Fund. Members will be going to Jacobetti Veterans Home and Hospital in Marquette on May 6. The auxiliary is sending money for the ladies to have their hair done and money for the activities fund. Goody bags were won by Barb Mouthaan and Dixie Weiler. The 50/50 winner was Linda Dubie and Agnes Wendt’s name was drawn for the pot.

President Roxann Buchler declared the meeting closed with next month’s meeting being set for May 16.
