ACC’s Community Education program is offering an important and timely new series on Grant Writing beginning March 7. This comprehensive professional development series covers essential topics for making successful funding applications.

The Grant Writing series will be taught by Dawn Stone, director of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training grant (TAACCCT) at Alpena Community College. Stone has been writing and managing grants for nearly 20 years with current oversight of nearly $3 million from state and federal sources.

∫ Where’s the money?

∫ Essential components to a grant proposal

∫ Developing relationships with grant makers

∫ Dissecting and researching the Request for Proposal and its enabling legislation

∫ Understanding the “intent” of the funder

Cost of the entire series, including lunches, is $90. The program will be held in the ACC Newport Center Building, Room 106. Advance registration is required. For additional information and to register by phone, please call 358-7271.
